Marietta Sports League is a faith-based organization that will inspire character building, positive sportsmanship, strong community engagement, and excellent volunteer training. MSL will focus on discipleship and building relationships, not just winning. We will create an environment where people feel they belong and can grow in all phases of life.
General Expectations

Focus on the whole person: The ministry aims to develop participants physically, mentally, and spiritually, not just athletically.
-
Inclusivity and accessibility: The league should welcome everyone in the community, regardless of skill level, background, or ability to pay, ensuring a place where everyone belongs.
-
Safety first: Comprehensive safety protocols, including background checks for volunteers, first-aid availability, and concussion policies, are a top priority.
-
Clear and timely communication: Organizers commit to keeping everyone informed about schedules, changes, and events through reliable channels like email or text.
-
Well-organized structure: Practices and games are expected to start and end on time, demonstrating respect for everyone's time and building trust.

-
Positive sportsmanship: Participants are expected to exhibit integrity, respect opponents and teammates, and shake hands before and after games.
-
Respect for authority: All players, coaches, and spectators must respect officials' decisions without argument or protest.
-
Positive cheering: The focus should be on positive encouragement and applauding good effort from all competitors, not negative behavior or yelling at officials.
-
Christ-like love and character: The league's activities should model Christian values like humility, teamwork, servanthood, and grace in both victory and defeat.
Spiritual/Ministry Expectations
-
Intentional ministry: Coaches and volunteers are expected to be intentional in building relationships and sharing principles of faith and life lessons through the platform of sports.
-
Prayer and reflection: Practices and games may incorporate pre-game prayers or moments of reflection to keep God at the center of the experience.
-
Mentorship: Experienced mentors or older Christians are encouraged to guide younger participants, helping them build their identity in Christ.
Outreach: The league serves as a point of contact for the wider church ministry, aiming to connect families with the church community in a welcoming, and loving way.
